Unbroken
Unbroken: From Bullied to Boardroom tells Ron Cox’s powerful true story—rising from trauma, depression, and failure, to success, guided by his grandfather’s words and his own relentless drive to build a better life.
As a young boy, Ron knew little but upheaval. Born in the midst of the 1960s and 70s, his naive mind endured an era of social change, civil unrest, and personal chaos.
After his (known to him) father went to war and his mother remarried, Ron and his siblings had a new father to contend with—whose drinking turned to violence and whose name still sparks anxiety in the author almost five decades later.
High school came with its own set of challenges. However, slivers of light began to cut through the darkness—enough to illuminate a gleam of hope for a life worth living.
Ron’s grandfather, a World War II veteran and the very definition of strength, became Ron’s inspiration and model for what a man should be. From him, Ron learned that living life with a battlefield-decision mentality can adjust your perspective.
Travel through Ron’s life as he recounts the darkness, fear, and confusion that brought him to his knees and the light, hope, and Rock that helped him stand again.
Unbroken is the penultimate book for young men and women navigating challenges in life. It’s a story of survival, hope, and faith that illustrates how hard work, perseverance, and belief can carry you through the worst moments of your life.
Listeners who enjoy Can’t Hurt Me and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, as well as other popular motivational self-help books, will resonate with Unbroken’s messages.
Me and My Best Friend
In the heart of America's Midwest, an extraordinary friendship blossomed when two young couples became neighbors. What started as a chance encounter in 1993 grew into a three-decade adventure filled with laughter, mischief, and unbreakable bonds.
Ron Cox and his best friend Chris Sprague, along with their wives and families, have selected 30 of their most memorable stories from a treasure trove of shared experiences. From hilarious misadventures to heartwarming moments, these tales span 30 years of friendship, family, and fun in small-town USA.
Readers will find themselves chuckling at near-brushes with the law, gasping at daring escapades, and warming to touching moments of companionship.
More than just a collection of amusing anecdotes, "Me and My Best Friend" is a testament to the power of friendship and the joy of shared experiences. As you journey through three decades with Ron and Chris, you'll be inspired to reflect on your cherished friendships and the moments that define them.
Pick up this book, and then pick up the phone. It's time to reconnect, reminisce, and maybe even make some new stories of your own. Because in the end, it's not just about the memories we make—it's about sharing them while we can.
“Real struggles and real success! This book connected with me on a personal level because the struggles Ron went through felt so real. His honesty about fear, pain, and uncertainty made his success feel earned. The strength he found through his grandfather’s wisdom felt like something anyone could draw from. It’s a story that’s hard to forget.”
Praise for “Unbroken”
Praise for “Me and My Best Friend”
“Made me laugh and call my best friend! I started this book expecting a few funny stories and ended up feeling genuinely emotional by the end. The stories feel real, like the kind of memories you share around a kitchen table. Ron Cox captures the joy and chaos of long-term friendship perfectly. I laughed out loud more than once, but a few moments really hit home. By the end, I found myself thinking about friends I’ve known just as long. This book is a great reminder not to take those relationships for granted.”
